Bog Monster!! Yes!! I love it. 😈

And I love the poem AND that your post about The Women’s March was so well received.

Also - congratulations 🎉 on being in print. So well deserved!

It’s scary to try new things, but I agree that Substack seems to be a good place to take that opportunity. I’ve been taking my own baby steps in that direction, and it’s fun. 💜

Thank you so much Jamie!! Yes it feels like a good place to try things out. I’m very grateful everyone (like you) is so supportive. Thank you so much! We are going to get through this dark time.. we will keep making art to survive.

Congrats Lyns!! You are an inspiration! Oof on January. If nothing else, we have learned that time, such as opening a new calendar, is entirely a made up thing 🤣

Big Monster. That is so cool. Congratulations on your publication! I really enjoyed reading this it’s really different from what I normally read but I think it’s really unique. Like you my category doesn’t define me—creative non fiction —but it’s a start. Glad we met in our little group.

Arg, that selfie is awesome! Yes, we are all multifaceted. I write about hope, but I'm a horror addict! I can't get enough of this. Congrats on being published!

Congratulations on getting published! I shall have to get it so I can say I knew you when… lol. You are a seriously good human and that makes the writing thing work. I hope you can embrace that knowledge deep down in your bog monster heart. Maybe you should write a guest essay on SHR for Bog Monster Medicine? Keep looking out different windows through different spider webs. We are, as others have said, multi faceted so we can also create whatever speaks to us to do so. Stay awesome! ❤️

Thank you so much! You’re making me cry. You’re so nice to me!! 🥹. I will share the essay at some point if you don’t want to purchase the zine. I can also get you a discount copy and mail it if you prefer. I would love to collaborate with you! You’re so awesome for even thinking of it. I love the callback to the spider webs. I still watch them everyday.

“We create whatever speaks to us to do so” this is one of the most profound things I’ve heard and it speaks to me so very much in this moment, you don’t even know. Sometimes I feel driven as though I am the passenger just along for the ride. I love the idea that which drives us to create, also drives us to create that which drives us. Mind blown. 🤯

Lyns, the poem you shared is haunting and timely. I love that you're allowing yourself to experiment and find your way. How wonderful that publishers are saying yes. Congratulations!

"We do not have to box ourselves into a specific category. I do write horror nonfiction, but I also write poetry, spirituality, recovery stories, and someday I hope to be cool enough to write fiction." I love that, too.
